  • The individual will be responsible for various aspects of technology development including process integration, device design, technology design rules, test chip, parametric testing, and process qualification.
  • The individual must be self-motivated with very little need for management. Startup environment requires this individual to be hard working and flexible in supporting moving wafers through the fab.

Job Responsibilities

  • Establishing, measuring, and improving metrics for individual process modules including process objective specification, electrical performance and process control metrics.
  • Propose technology design rules based on tool and process capabilities.
  • Define next-generation process architecture and be responsible for technology scaling.
  • Transfer process know-how to manufacturing by creating SOPs and training fab operators.

  • NexGen Power Systems is seeking a motivated engineer to lead the Product Engineering team for a new generation of power semiconductor devices based on GaN.
  • You will work closely with process integration, module, device, and applications teams to improve device performance and yield.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage the Product Development Process bringing products from conception to the production release
  • Manage reliability test plans for new products, including sample testing during prototyping phase and full qualification during production release
  • Develop and execute characterization plans for new products
  • Define production test limit and datasheet specifications based on characterization data. Compare data to target specifications and formulate approaches to achieve a match between target performance and measured unit performance at production release
  • Develop and document procedures for advanced reliability tests, such as high voltage stress
  • Work with Applications Engineering on customer-related issues
  • Lead failure analysis investigations using structure problem-solving methods to engage a cross-functional team to diagnose, resolve, and prevent future problems

  • NexGen Power Systems is seeking a motivated engineer to lead the Test Engineering team for a new generation of power semiconductor devices based on GaN.
  • You will work closely with product engineering, module, device, and applications teams to characterize new products and maintain production test capabilities for in support of volume shipments.

Job Responsibilities

  • Operation and maintenance of test hardware and software for the characterization of GaN power semiconductor devices and circuits.
  • Implementation, correlation, and release of reliable test solutions in support of production ramps.
  • Design and procurement of custom probe cards which can operate in a high voltage environment.
  • Specification, design, and implementation of custom test environments to verify device operation to data sheet specifications.
  • Development of test solutions for power semiconductor components (1500V/30A) which meet all applicable safety requirements for both operator and equipment.
  • Clean and well-commented code constructs
  • Develop and document procedures for advanced reliability tests, such as high voltage stress
  • Test efficiency – is the implemented test time within the allotted test time budget target?
  • Work closely with Product Engineering to achieve continuous improvement of the test environment as measured by reduction in test time and yield improvement
  • Work with Applications Engineering on customer-related issues

  • The individual must be self-motivated with ability to handle a fast-paced startup environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Device structural design coordinated with integration engineering.
  • Simulation of device electrical performance, as well as thermal modeling.
  • Determination of process manufacturing tolerances based on simulations of typical structural variations.
  • Design and layout of test chips to verify electrical performance.
  • Test specifications for test structures.
  • Analysis of electrical characterization data and comparison to targets.
  • Incorporation of design for manufacturability and design for quality in the device design.
  • Work (as needed) with personnel at NexGen’s Syracuse fab and external foundry partners.
